LinkedIn is probably already familiar to anyone who must work for a living. With more than 1 billion members from more than 200 countries, it is the biggest professional social network in the world. It can be used for advertising, recruiting employees, networking, job searching, or a mix of these purposes.

Although it is free to join LinkedIn, many of its services need a subscription. LinkedIn constantly advertises its fee-based Premium membership, displaying links to use its AI tools before directing you to the Premium subscription page or revealing the number of individuals who saw your profile without revealing their identities until you have purchased Premium.

Signing up for LinkedIn Premium is simple, and there is now a free one-month trial available. However, after your free trial expires, what should you do if you decide you don’t want to begin paying for premium features? Or perhaps you have been paying for Premium and feel that you aren’t receiving value for your money? How can I cancel my paid subscriptions and return to the basic free version?

How to locate the button for cancellation?

You can locate the premium cancellation option in a few different ways. First, you can select the “Me” option by clicking on the thumbnail of your profile in the top toolbar. Select Premium Features from the list of options. On the page with Premium Features, choose “Manage subscription.” To terminate a premium account, click on it. You can choose to “Change payment method,” “Switch plans,” and “Cancel free trial” (or “Cancel subscription” if you’re not in the free trial period) on the Admin Center Purchases page that appears. Choose the option to cancel.

As an alternative, you can scroll down to see Subscriptions & Payments after choosing Settings & Privacy Page from the “Me” menu. Select “Manage Premium Account.” This leads to the Settings page, where you may manage your subscription, switch plans, or cancel your subscription.

Choose Cancel Subscription. The LinkedIn Admin Center page can also be accessed by selecting “For Business” from the top toolbar and then selecting “Manage billing.” To cancel a premium option, choose it under “Purchases,” There is a header labelled “Actions” at the top of the following page. “Change payment method,” “Switch plans,” and “Cancel free trial” (or subscription) are the three options available here. Choose the option to cancel.

How to finish the cancelling procedure

After choosing “Cancel free trial” or “Cancel subscription,” LinkedIn won’t let you leave until you’ve completed a number of confirmation forms. In an attempt to persuade you to reconsider, you will be directed to a website that highlights the advantages of the Premium plan, including LinkedIn’s AI capabilities. Go ahead and click “Continue to cancel.” Following this, you may receive another pop-up that asks whether you’re certain and lists the features you won’t be able to use. Unless you’ve changed your mind, click “Continue to cancel” once more.

The last cancellation page will now be displayed. Before the cancellation is verified, you will be prompted to leave comment, so you will need to select an option from the list, such as “I achieved my goal” or “It’s too costly.” You can also select “Other” and give a personal explanation. 

After that, choose “Confirm cancellation.” You can receive a two-month offer of 50% off the Premium price if you responded that the plan is too costly. Even if you have no intention of cancelling, this is something to keep in mind. In order to benefit from this, choose “Redeem exclusive offer.” Select the cancellation confirmation if not. After completing all of these procedures, you can choose to restart your subscription whenever you’d like by visiting the previously mentioned Settings or Admin Center pages and choosing Restore subscription.
